Peek Behind Solo Leveling's Magic in Upcoming Doc!

Hey, Otaku’s!

Want to start your day off with one of the best sound effect moments in anime history? Check out this short.

Here’s what’s on today’s agenda:

  • Compensation for Funimation app users.

  • Solo Leveling is getting a two-part documentary.

  • Elding Ring - the anime?

Crunchyroll Plans to Compensate Funimation App Users

In an interview on Monday, Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini revealed that the company is working to offer users migrating from the Funimation app to Crunchyroll with "an appropriate value" of compensation for their digital copies. The move comes amidst complaints from users who will lose some of the content currently purchased in the Funimation app that Crunchyroll won't support. Specifically, Funimation provided digital copies of some of their home video DVD and Blu-ray disc purchases.

Crunchyroll has not specified how it will compensate users "an appropriate value" to their Funimation digital copies, but we will keep you updated as details emerge.

The Leveling of Solo Leveling Announced

The anime adaptation of the relatively popular webtoon has become an international sensation. But Solo Leveling seems to be getting treatment few new anime have received in recent years - its own documentary. Crunchy Roll has announced that the show, which is in the middle of its first season, is the topic of a two-part documentary about how the show came to be.

While we love to see good shows getting their flowers, so to speak, this move seems premature. A release for the documentary has not yet been announced, but it will be interesting to see if the hype around the show lasts long enough for the documentary to be relevant.

Eldin Ring - the anime?

Not just yet. But Kadokawa announced on Thursday that it will release a vertical-scrolling webcomic adaptation of the game titled Elden Ring Become Lord on March 29th. The studio has released both a teaser and a summary of the comic's plot:

"Adventurous tale of The Tarnished seeking to become the Elden Lord

The grand adventure of the action RPG ELDEN RING is now available in full-color comic. The story follows one of The Tarnished who, guided by blessings, reached the Lands Between and sets out on a journey to become the next Elden Lord. Along the way, the Tarnished encounters charming characters, explores various dungeons, battles mighty bosses, and more."

The webcomic, which will be available on the Tatesc Comics website and in several ebook stores in Japan, is currently slated for release in Japanese only, with editions in other languages yet to be confirmed.

Could this be the first step toward turning the award-winning game into an anime? We don't know, but we hope so!

Trivi-Asta Time!

We can't wait for the premiere of season 5 of Black Clover! While we wait, we thought we'd throw a little Magic Knight trivia your way:

Q: Which squad is the youngest of the Magic Knight squads?

A: The Black Bulls and Golden Dawn are the youngest squads, as they were started at the same time. Both were made just a few years before the start of the series.
