Anime Villains Justified?
Hey, everyone!
Here’s what’s going in the world of Anime today:
A thread on Twitter about Anime villains being in the right has people outraged!
@EnvieP1 on Twitter makes phenomenal art pieces in a super personalized art-style!

If that sounds a little crazy to you, then you may be on to something. There is nothing wrong with a good villain backstory that makes you relate, nor is there something wrong with a story of redemption that sees a bad person slowly becoming good. This thread, well, it’s not that.
Saying Light Yagami was “Justified” may land you in hot water.
Sure, at first, Light was simply trying to rid the world of Evil. The issue here is, if you watch all of Death Note, it’s easy to see that the power of the notebook went to his head. He didn’t become evil because of the cops. He was already evil by the time he had to deal with the cops. He even started calling himself a god, and wasn’t shy about killing the police, FBI, or even innocents that got in his way.

Now some of the takes @Pushu_007_ had weren’t as bad, for example, Gaara also made it onto this list. If you watch Naruto, then you know that Gaara had quite the redemption arc. Due to Naruto’s friendship and actions, he began to see how his actions were hurting others and began correcting them by himself, effectively becoming a really good and well-loved character.
What do you think? Is @Pushu_007_ correct?
Extremely talented artist, @EnvieP1, makes waves on Twitter!

It’s always nice to see an artist that shines so brightly as to even outclass the original works that they are based on. This piece by @EnvieP1 is just that. The level of detail in their work is just mind blowing. It’s a completely different art style than anything ever drawn for Attack on Titan but it’s just so amazing and unique that it works perfectly. This is the kind of art that just belongs in a museum for everyone to see.
And of course, they drew the Iconic rumbling. But from a different perspective!

Once again, the level of detail here just shows how much love @EnvieP1 has for both art and for the Anime. The way the streets have reflection, the way some people are so shocked that they aren’t moving, but others are running and falling. Eren being slightly covered by fog and clouds. There is not enough praise in the world that can be given to this artist, go check them out and support their work on Twitter!
Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga set to premier in October!

Blue Exorcist, a popular Anime that started all the way back in 2011, is getting a 4th season! Fans of the show are extremely happy to hear this, as the Anime tends to have several years between seasons. The average wait time for another season of Blue Exorcist is actually around 4 years, but this time we’re getting 2 seasons in 1 year! A large change from the normal wait time.
While there is no full trailer, there is an announcement visual that promises an October release date.

Eren Yeager, the war-bound kid, and why people don’t villainize him.

There are spoilers in this segment.
Eren Yeager is the main character from the popular anime Attack on Titan and appeared in the “Anime Villains that ‘No One Blames” thread that was discussed earlier in this newsletter. This is a character that actually does belong in this category in a sense. While mostly no one likes what he did, and people definitely blame him because what he did was horrible, he was destined to be the next Attack Titan due to some weird time travel stuff. He never had a choice.
Eren technically saved more people than he killed.
While that may sound weird on the surface level, you don’t have to dig deep to find this out. Eren himself hated that he did the rumbling and completely checked out mentally during the final fight, basically allowing his friends to kill him. Because he did the rumbling, though, he ended the cycle of titans for thousands of years. This allowed people to rebuild and live happy lives completely free of monsters, and walls, for a very long time. He was in the wrong, but for all the right reasons.

Know your meme!
A meme circulating around different Attack on Titan communities became popular after the final movie came out a couple of months ago and is still popular to this day. A seagull with Eren’s haircut peeking around a corner. While this may not make sense at first, the ending of Attack on Titan shows a seagull grabbing Mikasa’s scarf and there is a lot of symbolism in seagulls for Eren throughout the show.
